Team survey product update

Product Update: Timing Options, Security, Speed Improvements and More

It’s been a productive quarter for the team working on our employee survey software, and I am pleased to share news on some of our recent improvements in this post.

As we’ve previously mentioned, many of our improvements and new features are driven by customer demand. This software co-creation approach helps us create a far more superior product, rather than working on product direction in isolation.

Our team has grown in recent months, and this is reflected in the recent improvements and features we’ve released to our valued customers. Whilst we publish mentions of product updates regularly on our Release Notes, it is worth covering the main ones off in a regular article.

We have a full roadmap of product improvements coming up over the next few months – I look forward to sharing news of these, as they are released. In the meantime, if you do have a feature suggestion or feedback, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our support team.

In this article, I want to share with you five of our recent improvements. These all help us deliver an ever improving employee survey product to our valued customers.

Employee survey product update

Faster platform

You may not consciously notice this, however we have made a significant number of changes to the product codebase and database architecture which has resulted in much faster response times.

You will find that reports and graphs will load significantly faster, and the delivery speed of emails has also been improved at least fivefold.

New poll timing options

We’ve listened to our customer feedback and have recently revised the poll deadline options, from being the previously fixed 24 hours, to allowing you to choose an option of either 24, 48 or 72 hours.

You can change this option within your poll schedule settings. This means that employees aren’t forced to answer your poll in 24 hours.

Extra Security

We have introduced (optional) two factor authentication (2FA) to access the My 6Q area.

Powered by Google Authenticator, this allows you to lock down your account, and ensure that you use both your current password, as well as the Google Authenticator mobile app (available for both Android and iOS devices).

To log into My 6Q once you have enabled two-factor authentication, you need to enter your email and password as normal, and then open the Authenticator app on your phone to get your six-digit one-time password.

This increases security of your account, and reduces the chance of someone without your authority accessing your data. You can enable this within your profile screen.

Better employee importing

We have made a number of changes to the bulk employee importing tool, which means that we no longer have the 1,000 employees at a time restriction.

You will notice leaders now have access to downloading a template CSV file, and a simple import CSV option.

Other features of the overhauled importer include;

Faster processing of 1,000+ employees.

The importer will now display how many users you have selected.

New segments will now be created if they don’t currently exist.

You can re-import an existing user using the importer, and if their segments have been updated, the importer adds them to new segments immediately.

When you are having fun, and creating something you love, it shows in the product.

Usage logs

A number of our larger customers have requested better visibility over their colleagues actions, and the ability to track down delivery issues.

We now have a usage logs screen for leaders, that shows you recent logins, any poll adjustments, logouts and the like.

Reviewing a team member will allow you to view any activity, such as poll sends, reminder sends and similar.

We are also testing the ability to report email bounces, etc automatically to appropriate leaders. This will be released in the near future.

In Summary

I’m positive that existing customers will be pleased with the recent changes we have made, and that you will find these useful.

Don’t forget that you can always see more immediate notifications of future updates on our Release Notes service.

I’m also happy to report there are a number of new features and improvements that are already in the pipeline. These will be released over the remainder of 2018, and I will share news of the major ones as they appear.

Once again, if you have a suggestion on any product improvements, don’t hesitate to reach out to our friendly support team to let them know.
